Along with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Brown Primary is a part of the CENTIPEDe outreach project. CENTIPEDe is Community Education  Networks  To Integrate Prevention of Environmental Disease. Future science activities are being planned along with a Family Fun Science Night that will be coming at the end of the school year.

Science is everywhere at Brown Primary!                                                                             

 

Cubs learned how the milk they drink at lunch gets from cows to them in the cafeteria when a Mobile Dairy Unit visited Brown.

                                   

 

PreK's field trip included a nature walk in the woods to collect and identify seeds, leaves, and pecans. Mrs. Sides' 2nd grade buddy class went along and helped them to also identify a variety of birds..

                                     

 

Jungle Jim brought his critters teach us about bugs of the world and other creeping, slithering things.  The exhibit consisted of live arthropods, reptiles, and amphibians.  Fossils, Horseshoe Crabs. Giant Spider Crab and a Giant Coconut Crab were also on display.

       

     

 

Mr. Ben's class learns about gourds. They also paint them and make them into birdhouses.

                      

 

Mrs. Schobel's 2nd grade conducts an experiment in the Science  Lab by mixing and matching colors.
