Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills Resources

Smithville ISD is utilizing content and support for online curriculum management through the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Resource System, which is provided by the Texas Curriculum Management Cooperative (TCMC, http://www.tcmpc.org/). The state’s 20 Educational Service Centers share responsibility for management and operations of TEKS.

The TCMC and Smithville ISD believe that parents are a vital part of a student’s education. For more information on TEKS and the state standards for what students should know and be able to do visit the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills Parent Resources web page. Created and approved by the publically elected State Board of Education, these standards cover all the subjects taught in Texas public schools and include the foundational  curriculums of mathematics, English language arts and reading, science and social studies.

For questions regarding the State Board of Education or the adoption of the TEKS, please contact the Texas Education Agency TEKS webpage.
