Smithville ISD Student Code of Conduct and Conduct Receipt

Dear Student and Parent:

As required by state law, the board of trustees has officially adopted the 2017-2018 SISD Student Code of Conduct in order to promote a safe and orderly learning environment for every student.

We urge you to read this publication thoroughly and to discuss it with your family. If you have any questions about the required conduct and consequences for misconduct, we encourage you to ask for an explanation from the student’s teacher or campus administrator.
The student and parent should each sign the Student Code Of Conduct Receipt document, below, and return it to the student’s school.

Thank you.
Dr. Rock McNulty, Superintendent of Schools

Student Code of Conduct and receipt:
SISD's Student Code of Conduct is meant to promote an orderly learning environment for every student. Both student and parent are asked to sign the Student Code of Conduct Receipt document that verifies their review of the information.

The Texas Education Code
Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code requires a district to adopt, with the advice of its district level committee, a student code of conduct for the district. SISD's Student Code of Conduct communicates to students, parents, school staff and the community exactly what is expected of students and how misconduct will be handled.
