Smithville I.S.D. is a dynamic school district with a promising future. Spring 2008 TAKS results were excellent and compared very well with the state averages and school districts in the areas surrounding Austin. As the Texas Education Agency raises the accountability bar for the students of Texas, Smithville ISD is working hard to provide the educational advantage for our students. Curriculum mapping, benchmark testing, new educational software (A Plus) which provides a differentiated approach to teaching math and language arts, Capturing Kids' Hearts training, Accelerated Reader (ARI), Accelerated Math (AMI), Teen Leadership classes, and Peer Assistance (PALS) are all aimed toward the common goal of excellence. Thus, we are very proud of our students and staff for being "committed to excellence".
The district maintains and broadcasts community and school activity information on cable television on Channel 10. We encourage the community to be a part of the important task of educating the future - our children.
