District News:

    • The Child Nutrition Department received the Texas Hunger Initiative Silver Award for Excellence in Summer Meals
    • Texas Empowerment Academy Charter School plans to submit an amendment to its open-enrollment charter for consideration by the commissioner of education.  There is no projected impact on Smithville ISD.

Brown Primary School

    • 2nd grade students made posters for the Chamber of Commerce Rebuild Fundraisers

Smithville High School

    • Boys Powerlifting: Colt Baranowski Academic All-State
    • Girls Powerlifting: Dez’JaNae Hodge Academic All-State
    • Girls Basketball: Dallie Ferrell named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Academic All-State team & TABC Girls All-Region Class 4A Region 4 Team
