The progress is thanks to the Board of Trustees’ approval of a Change Order. Interim Superintendent Cheryl Burns is proud of the Board’s work with PBK and Drymalla on securing the necessary permits to continue work on the multipurpose athletic complex and junior high campus. “I’m so appreciative of the Board’s work in order to move the projects forward. It will be a welcome sight to see equipment back on the grounds,” said Burns.
The Board of Trustees approved a $233K Change Order to enlarge the existing retention pond as required by permitting regulations. The work includes additional clearing and grubbing, spreading of approximately another 15k yards of additional material on site across the creek behind the ball fields, added pond liner, added paving, add stabilization at the channel, and crediting the 12” reduced lime stabilization around the stadium outside the track lanes, added curb and gutter, and add stabilizing of stockpiled earthwork and construction paths.
In an another action item, the Board of Trustees authorized Drymalla to issue a pre-engineered metal building package for bidding the new junior high campus.
As an informational item, PBK presented the proposed colors of the new junior high campus along with renderings of the interior of the junior high building.
“It’s very exciting to know the project will begin again,” said Mrs. Burns. “We have a wonderful and supportive community that has worked long and hard to help shape the future for these new facilities to become a reality. Now we will all be able to enjoy the next phases of construction as we continue to work together.”
