Smithville ISD Names Stephanie Foster as New Principal of Brown Primary School
(June 5, 2018 6:00pm) Smithville Independent School District is pleased to announce that Stephanie Foster has accepted the position of Principal at Mary A. Brown Primary School.
“Ms. Foster’s experience in curriculum and instruction along with her interpersonal skills made this an easy move. She is well liked and respected by the staff and I know she will continue to move Brown Primary forward as a true foundation of academic excellence for our district”, stated Superintendent Cheryl Burns.
Ms. Foster has served the past two years as the school’s Assistant Principal and is eager to continue serving the students, staff, and community of Brown Primary School. Her teaching experience began in 2005 in Flower Mound, Texas, in Elementary Reading. In 2010 she worked as the Math and Science Curriculum Specialist in Bastrop ISD before being named the Assistant Principal of Cedar Creek Elementary. Over the past two years as assistant principal at Brown Primary, Stephanie has focused on instructional practices and started professional learning communities on the campus.
Ms. Foster earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Special Education. She also earned her Masters of Education in Education Administration from the University of North Texas.
When asked about how she felt about her new role Ms. Foster said, “I am very excited to continue my journey in Smithville as the Brown Primary Principal and look forward to seeing the continued growth of our Brown Primary Tiger Cubs.” Stephanie also stated that she is grateful for those who have helped her get to this point in her career.
