Smithville ISD Lockout Update

(October 11, 2018 4:15pm) Smithville ISD in conjunction with the Smithville Police Department have verified that the threatening call received earlier today did not come from anyone in the immediate area. In fact it has been determined the call originated outside of Texas. This incident is still under investigation by the Smithville PD and additional agencies. Due to the open investigation no further information will be provided at this time.

Smithville ISD and the Smithville Police Department have concluded that the district, and community at-large, were never in any immediate danger during this incident.

Smithville ISD appreciates the expedient and comprehensive response from the Smithville Police Department and their diligence in addressing this situation.
