New to Smithville ISD?


PreK-5th Grade New Student Registration is scheduled for April 12, 2022, at the Brown Primary Campus from:
8:30-11:30 AM
12:00-3:00 PM
4:00-5:30 PM

All new and returning families should complete the Household Income Survey for the 2022-2023 school year.

Documents Required for Registering New Students

Parents will need to provide the following documents during registration:  student’s certified birth certificate, student’s social security card, proof of residency, driver’s license, and up-to-date shot records.   Parents of Pre-K students must also provide documentation that meets one of the qualifying criteria that is listed in the chart below.

Required Documents


If a student speaks more than one language, the student will need to take an Oral Language Proficiency Test to verify eligibility.  A campus counselor will arrange a time for the student to visit the school to complete the assessment. 

Economically Disadvantaged

The following must be provided for all members of the household:

  All July2021 paycheck stubs.  Paycheck stubs must be dated and show gross income for the pay period.

  All July 2021 Unemployment, Worker’s Compensation, or Disability payment stubs

  2020 Tax Return (Self-Employment Only)

  Current  SNAP Eligibility Documentation – Will be verified through direct certification.

  Current TANF Eligibility Documentation – Will be verified through direct certification.

  Medicaid Free or Reduced Eligibility Documentation– Will be verified through direct certification.


Must fill out required documentation during registration.

Active Duty Military

Parents must provide one of the following:

  Student’s US Department of Defense Photo ID for Children of Active Duty Service Members

  Military member’s US Department of Defense Photo ID

  A statement of service from the installation adjutant general director of human resources for children of active members, mobilized reservists, or members of the Texas National Guard.

  A copy of the death certificate using the service-appropriate DoD form, or a DoD form that indicates death as the reason for the separation from service, for children of service members who died or were killed.

  Other forms of documentation may be accepted.  If you do not have any of the above, please contact the campus for other acceptable forms.

Copy of resolution (certificate) awarded to parent
