Smithville ISD Receives USDA Waiver for Students to
Receive a FREE Breakfast & Lunch
Free breakfasts and lunches will be provided to all Smithville ISD students beginning September 21, 2020 thru end of the 20-21 school year.
Smithville ISD has received a waiver from the USDA which will allow for all SISD students (learning virtually and on campus), as well as children in the community 18 and under, to receive free breakfasts and lunches.
Students learning via on campus will receive 1 FREE complete meal each day. Any additional entrees or snacks will be charged to the students’ meal account. Charging will be only allowed if the student has money in their account.
Students learning virtually and children not enrolled in school have 2 options to receive the FREE meals: Curbside or Home Delivery.
The district's cafeterias can provide electronic accounting for student meal balances and daily meal ticket accounting through a service called Lunch Money Now. Lunch Money Now allows parents and guardians to manage their child's lunch money account. Parents can check balances and deposit funds to ensure their children have access to lunches. Parents can also setup email notices to inform them when a student's account dips below a specified amount.
Note: a parent or guardian needs the following information to use Lunch Money Now:
