In 1995, the Texas Legislature created the Public Education Grant (PEG) program
[TEC §§29.201 - 29.205]. The PEG program permits parents whose children attend schools on the PEG list to request that their children transfer to schools in other districts. For the Superintendent's letter about the PEG program download the PDF, below.
Under the PEG program transfer provision, a parent of a student enrolled in any of the campuses listed (TEA PEG List 2015-16
) may make application to attend a campus in any other school district for the 2013-14 school year. The parent obtains a transfer by contacting, in writing, the district into which the student wants to transfer.
