The Smithville Independent School District welcomes public use of school facilities for educational, recreational, civic or social activities, when these activities do not conflict with school use or with local or state laws or regulations, and in accordance with Board Policy and District Procedures - policies GKD (LEGAL) and GKD (LOCAL).

Requests for non-school use of district facilities shall be considered on a first-come-first-served basis. Academic and extracurricular activities sponsored by the district shall always have priority.

Following approval of the request, non-school users shall be required to complete a written agreement indicating receipt and understanding of the requirements. Non-school users will be charged a fee for the use of designated facilities to cover the costs associated with the physical operation of the facilities, as well as any applicable personnel costs, custodial services, food services, security, and/or technology services. 

All events and activities sponsored by the District shall have priority when any use is scheduled. The Superintendent or designee may cancel a scheduled non-school use if an unexpected conflict arises with a District activity.

We will do our best to accommodate requests, but may be limited at times due to facility availability or staffing shortages. We appreciate your understanding. Please see links below for the facility request process, rules and guidelines, and fee schedule.
