Internet Posting Requirements for Political Subdivisions

UPDATE: The two board places were unopposed, so the election was cancelled at the February 2026 School Board meeting.

Application packets for the school board elections will be available at Smithville Independent School District during the work week (M-F 7:30am-4:30pm). The window to apply is January 14, 2026 - February 13, 2026 (until 5pm on the final day).

Places up for election are as follows:

• Place 1 - Chris Hinnant

• Place 2 - Grant Gutierrez

Last day to register to vote is April 2, 2026

First day of early voting: April 20, 2026

Last day of early voting: April 28, 2026

Last day to apply for (not postmarked) Ballot by Mail is: April 20, 2026

Last day to receive (not postmarked) Ballot by Mail is May 2, 2026
