Our online "Card Catalogs" for all campuses can be accessed through OnShelf/Bookmarked, and parents can access them by requesting a log-in through the campus librarian.

Senate Bill 13 - Library Materials Notice

Public Notice of Library Materials Review

In accordance with Senate Bill 13, the school district is providing public notice regarding library materials that will be reviewed by the Smithville ISD School Board.

Important Dates:

30-Day Public Review Period: September 7, 2026 – October 6, 2026

Board Meeting Date: October 19, 2026

and

30-Day Public Review Period: February 2, 2027 - March 1, 2027

Board Meeting Date: March 22, 2027

This notice fulfills the mandatory 30-day posting requirement prior to the Board meeting where library materials will be considered.

During the public review period, community members are encouraged to examine the library materials under consideration. All materials subject to review are available for review at each campus library during regular school hours.

  • Provide information about specific materials

  • Explain the review process

  • Address community concerns

  • Schedule appointments to review materials
