Tiger Community,
I am writing today to share with you all that Coach Layne Neumann has notified the District that he is stepping down from his position as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, effective immediately.
For the past two seasons, Coach Neumann has demonstrated dedication and commitment in his role. We extend our gratitude to Coach Neumann for his service, his passion, and the countless hours he dedicated to our student-athletes and our athletic program.
The continuity of our athletic programs is a top priority. Coach Jaimie Kadlecek will immediately step in to manage the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Department in the interim, and the off-season football program will be led by Coach Chris Sexton while we conduct a comprehensive search for a new leader.
We are committed to identifying an outstanding Athletic Director and Head Football Coach who will continue to uphold the high standards of our schools and build upon the strong foundation that has been established. We will share updates regarding the search process with our community as they become available.
Thank you for your continued support of our student-athletes and Smithville ISD.
Sincerely,
Molley Perry, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
Smithville ISD
