afterschool program update in blue letters on a gray background

Smithville ISD has received notification that our application for continued participation in the Texas ACE (Afterschool Centers on Education) program for the upcoming school year was denied. Smithville ISD submitted an application to continue the ACE federal grant program for the next 5 years, after recently completing a 5-year cycle of the grant*.

We are incredibly disappointed that federal funding for this vital and successful program will no longer be available, and understand the challenge that the elimination of ACE programming creates for our students and families.

SISD is actively evaluating alternative options to continue providing high-quality after school programming for our students in grades K-5, and we need input from our Tiger families as we plan forward. If you are interested in your child receiving high-quality afterschool programming, please take a moment to complete the survey below.

*The ACE program is federally funded through the Title IV, Part B - Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers and administered by the Texas Education Agency through a competitive grant process.
