For the third consecutive year, Smithville ISD has improved its state accountability rating, receiving an overall score of 79 in 2026. All Smithville ISD campuses saw increased performance from 2025 to 2026.
“We are pleased to see that our focus on excellent instruction and student learning is resulting in improved academic outcomes,” said Superintendent Dr. Molley Ealy. “We know there is still much work to be done, and have no doubt that our teachers and students are on the path to show continued gains.”
Smithville High School demonstrated exceptional progress, increasing their overall performance from a 67 to an 89 over the past three years. SHS also received two Distinction Designations in 2026 for Academic Achievement in Science and Top 25%: Comparative Academic Growth, which is a state-level recognition showing exceptional growth relative to a peer group of 40 similar schools across the state.
