Smithville ISD is pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Roque Thompson as the new Smithville Junior High School Principal. With twelve years of experience as a Campus Administrator, including five years as a Principal in Gonzales and Schulenburg ISDs, he is excited to continue supporting and growing students and staff in Smithville.
“Mr. Thompson is an accomplished leader who excels at building strong relationships across the school community,” said Superintendent Dr. Molley Ealy. “He has a deep understanding of how to foster a supportive culture focused on high levels of student success, and I am excited to see SJHS flourish under his leadership.”
Mr. Thompson began his career in education teaching Math and English, and he also holds experience as a Math Interventionist. He has served as a Junior High Principal in Gonzales ISD and High School Principal at Schulenburg. Mr. Thompson holds a Bachelor's Degree from St. Edwards University and Masters in Educational Leadership from Texas State University.
A “Meet and Greet” will be held on Monday, June 8th from 4:30-5:30 pm at the SJHS Library. We invite you to join us and welcome Mr. Thompson to the Tiger family.
