Pocket's Grille is teaming up with Smithville ISD this year to recognize and celebrate the incredible teachers and staff members who make a difference in our schools every single day.
Each month throughout the school year, we will be spotlighting 5 Top Notch Tigers and giving you a chance to get to know the people who help make Smithville ISD such a special place!

We had our inaugural meeting of the Tiger Ambassador Academy, and it was AMAZING! 🤩
Thanks to the parents, community members, and staff who made our first meeting such a success. We toured SES, learned about school finance, and talked about school safety.
We look forward to this group continuing to learn about SISD throughout the rest of the school year!

We would love to have as many school groups, local businesses, community organizations, staff members, students, and families involved as possible.
There are several ways to participate:
🎃Host a booth or decorate a vehicle and pass out candy
🎃Bring a game or activity to set up at your vehicle
🎃Volunteer to help with set up or cleanup
🎃Donate candy
🎃Donate a door prize
🎃Volunteer for face painting or other event activities
High school students are welcome to volunteer as well, and we will specifically be looking for students interested in helping with face painting.

The Austin Community College welding program staff will be joining us to discuss this important pathway and the different certifications available to our students.

Thank you all for your patience as we navigated this weather event tonight. We hope everyone made it home safely. Just a recap of the changes to our Homecoming football game and festivities:
- Due to damage from a lightning strike at Tiger Stadium, the varsity football game will be played tomorrow morning (9/12) at 10am in GIDDINGS. There will be no charge for entry to the game. Thanks to Giddings ISD for their flexibility and hospitality!
- The Homecoming Dance will continue as planned, beginning tomorrow at 7:30pm at SHS. The district is working on a plan to allow family and friends to attend the crowning of our Homecoming King and Queen. We will communicate the details as soon as possible.
We are continuing to work through all the logistics of this rescheduled game, and will communicate as we have new information. Thank you, Tiger Nation, for your support and understanding. TIGER PRIDE!
We will have the crowning of our Homecoming King and Queen during our HALFTIME SHOW. Come out and show your support for our students and stick around to watch our Tiger Band take the field!
