Some of our Kindergarten students got a rare treat this month! Mrs. Hurst/Mrs. Ladewig's Kindergarten class participated in "Agriculture in the Classroom" presented by Texas Farm Bureau. They explored different types of seeds, planted sun flowers and even had a goat come visit their class! They also read the book How to Grow a Monster! It was an eventful day!

April 23rd - Ranger Madalyn Presents "Skins & Skulls" followed by the reading of "Matagorda Magic" by Author Kimberly Ridley. This event starts at 3:30 pm until 5:00 pm and will be held in the cafeteria at Smithville Elementary. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Starting today, April 8th, we will be locking the gates to Barry Field during the school day (8am-4pm). This is for the safety and security of our students and staff. The gates will remain open on the weekends and non-school days. We appreciate everyone's understanding as we strive to make SISD a safe place for our students, while also serving our community!


Huge shout-out to Ally Medical in Bastrop for providing athletic physicals for nearly 400 of our SISD students last Thursday! We appreciate their partnership!
