Smithville ISD is working with emergency management officials to monitor the incoming winter weather throughout the weekend. We will notify all families of any change to the schedule for Tuesday no later than Monday evening via text, website, social media, and local news outlets. Please be safe this weekend!

Don't forget that this Monday, January 15th, is a student and staff holiday in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Come view all of the amazing Science Fair projects that students have created. We will have the projects set up in the Main Cafeteria on Friday, January 12, 2024. You will be able to view projects any time between 8:00-3:00. Be sure you bring your state-issued ID and check-in with Building 1

We are incredibly thankful to the Police Officers and Safety Officers who help keep our students and staff safe! Happy Law Enforcement Appreciation Day!

If you have a student who chose to participate in a Science Fair project at home, they will need to be turned in to your homeroom teacher on Monday, January 8, 2024.

Welcome back, everyone! It is great to see our students and staff back in action this morning!

Thanks to the Smithville Noon Lions Club, First National Bank, the Smithville VFW, and Calbri Logistics for collecting, wrapping, and delivering coats to our campuses this week! We are so thankful for our wondering community that supports our students!

Thanks to these students for leading the Pledge for us at Monday's Board meeting!

REMINDER: Our Winter Break starts this Friday, December 15th. Students return on Thursday, January 4th.

If you are looking for some last-minute stocking stuffers, Ms. Foster will have smelly pencils, pens, stickers, and keychains for sale in the morning. See you all in the circle drive.

Santa will be visiting SES on Thursday. Please see the attached flyers for details.

Here are the elementary holiday dress-up days. You can also find these in your child's TIP folder on the December newsletter. We can't wait to see all of the holiday spirit this coming week.

Thanks to all the parents and grandparents (and PALs) who attended the 2nd Grade Parent Family Engagement event yesterday! Everyone enjoyed learning about space!

Please join us for the 1st Grade Holiday Performance.

Ms. Foster will be selling all of the fun smelly stuff in the morning. See you in the circle drive!

Reminder: Please see the attached flyer for information about the upcoming 1st-grade parent involvement activity.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving from SISD!

On Friday, our 2nd Graders read the book "Balloons on Broadway" about the origins of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Afterward, they made their own balloon floats to parade around the building!

Our SES Turkey Lunch was a HUGE success! Thanks to all the families who came out and enjoyed lunch with their students! Big shout-out to our SISD Child Nutrition Department for making this happen every year!
